I am considering using shadow maps to build a mesh collider. The red cylinder can roll forward, until the shadow gets too wide and the cylinder falls down through the shadow. In this example, red objects fall through the shadows on white objects. To simulate the effect, I've created this GIF: Specifically, I want to dynamically "cut holes" in an object’s collider wherever it is not lit up (/ in shadow), in real-time. This means that I cut a hole in the actual wall, which then creates a new mesh collider that other objects can pass through, using this new "hole". I would like to do something similarly, where I dynamically create mesh colliders. I've created a short GIF that illustrates the effect: I recently found an example where somebody used a projection to make a cutout in a surface in Unity as a "see through" shader: Feedback Friday Screenshot Saturday Soundtrack Sunday Marketing Monday WIP Wednesday Daily Discussion Quarterly Showcase Related communities 1 For questions, get in touch with mods, we're happy to help you.
